WordPress is the most popular web development platform in the world. It’s also our #1 Expertise Platform. Our customers love our WordPress work.
WordPress is web software you can use to create a beautiful website, blog, or app. We like to say that WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time.
The core software is built by hundreds of community volunteers, and when you’re ready for more there are thousands of plugins and themes available to transform your site into almost anything you can imagine. Over 60 million people have chosen WordPress to power the place on the web they call “home” — we’d love you to join the family.
Over 40% of the web has moved to WordPress. If you don’t need the power of something like Joomla, and most won’t, then this is your ticket to making your website work on phones and tablets. A Professional WordPress Developer has the ability to ask the client specifically what they are looking for in design as well as user experience and deliver on that promise. A Professional WordPress Developer has the ability to modify Plug-ins and themes, update and modify the core WordPress code and handle any technical issues that are bound to occur in the life of a website.
Here is a list of major companies running WordPress and they are leading the design movement on the Internet. All of them realize that you just can’t work on a Windows or Mac PC. Most people, as in 84% according to Google, are using a smartphone or tablet to access your website – so it’s got to look good on all platforms – more to the point – it has to WORK on all platforms. Please take a look at these very nice designs by large corporations – this is what we seek to emulate – perhaps at a scaled down factor – but none-the-less – that’s what we need to do for you within your budget constraints.

What Is WordPress?
WordPress is a content management system or CMS, a framework if you will, for use on building websites. WordPress, specificly, has a web template system using a template processor.
Themes [template system]
WordPress users may install and switch between themes. Themes allow users to change the look and functionality of a WordPress website and they can be installed without altering the content or health of the site. This keeps your content safe, but allows you to change the look, the feel, the navigation, the colors, and not start over.
Every WordPress website requires at least one theme to be present and every theme should be designed using WordPress standards with structured PHP, valid HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Themes may be directly installed using the WordPress “Appearance” administration tool in the dashboard or theme folders may be uploaded via FTP. The PHP, HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and CSS code found in themes can be added to or edited for providing advanced features. WordPress themes are in general classified into two categories, free themes and premium themes. All the free themes are listed in the WordPress theme directory and premium themes should be purchased from marketplaces and individual WordPress developers. WordPress users may also create and develop their own custom themes if they have the knowledge and skill to do so. If WordPress users do not have themes development knowledge then they may download and use free WordPress themes from wordpress.org or hire a WordPress developer, such as 72charms.com.
At 72 Charms, we start with your content needs and your brand colors, we choose a theme that has the basic functions to handle your business. We then add your content, customize the look and feel and create the navigation system. When you are happy we modify the entire site to work on mobile devices and make it SEO friendly (i.e Google will like it).
WordPress’s plugin architecture allows users to extend the features and functionality of a website or blog. WordPress has over 40,501 plugins available, each of which offers custom functions and features enabling users to tailor their sites to their specific needs. These customizations range from search engine optimization, to client portals used to display private information to logged in users, to content management systems, to content displaying features, such as the addition of widgets, sliders and navigation bars. But not all available plugins are always abreast with the upgrades and as a result they may not function properly or may not function at all. They may also conflict with the Theme causing other issues. At 72 Charms, our experience will select, install, test, and modify the plug-ins to do just what is needed on your site.
WordPress’s shopping cart plugin architecture can be quite complicated and involved in getting setup, but rather easy to use after setup. With that said we’ll work with your payments processor to determine the “gateway” required to link securly the shopping cart to your payments processor so you can get paid. Working backwards from there, we’ll pick a cart that presents your products as needed and then integrate all of that with WordPress. This undertaking is not something for the faint at heart to attempt and is better left to experts such as 72 Charms to accomplish. Once hooked up and functioning, 72 Charms can train you to manage your inventory on your own.
Mobile Content Update
Native applications exist for WebOS, Android, iOS (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad), Windows Phone, and BlackBerry. These applications, allow a limited set of options, which include adding new blog posts and pages, commenting, moderating comments, replying to comments in addition to the ability to view the stats. This is perfect for the site owner to add content without having any knowledge of how the site is built, and having no ability to “break” the site accidently.
WordPress also features integrated link management; a search engine–friendly, clean permalink structure; the ability to assign multiple categories to articles; and support for tagging of posts and articles. Automatic filters are also included, providing standardized formatting and styling of text in articles (for example, converting regular quotes to smart quotes). WordPress also supports the Trackback and Pingback standards for displaying links to other sites that have themselves linked to a post or an article. WordPress blog posts can be edited in HTML, using the visual editor, or using one of a number of plugins that allow for a variety of customized editing features.
